It all started when Paul announced he was going to Argentina. He wanted to see the great estancias, the Iguazu Falls, Bariloche, Buenos Aires and more. He is willing to let Tierra del Fuego go until the next time.
The goal is simply to enjoy Argentina with friends. Figuring out exactly how to do it in a way that is enjoyable to all four might be problematic--especially since we've been strong on visualization courtesy of the internet, Fodors, Lonely Planet and other resources. There will be times when all four may want to go in different directions. Conflict is not likely unless all four destinations involve using the one car we have alotted ourselves. Paper, scissors, stone on the horizon? I don't see this group resolving disputes in such a manner, unless they are the weapons of dispute resolution, as opposed to the mere symbols of the kids' game.
Meanwhile issues such as where to stay and how much to spend await us. Fortunately we do have contracts in Buenos Aires. We are all agreed we want to see as much of the countryside as possible without turning our backs on all that Buenos Aires has to offer. We hope we can get enough information from our contacts to plan a good itinerary. A major problem when you're strong on ideas and destinations and short on actual arrangements --ideas are old friends but execution is a distant cousin who's looking for a parking place--is too many possibilities can get in the way of getting on with it. We need to accept that we can't see it all and save some things for later. From the emails exchanged, that's a consensus.
Sounds like a committee.
